Alfred Monte Jr
A founding member of the firm, Mr. Monte manages the firm's commercial litigation, transactional and intellectual property departments. In addition to commercial and intellectual property litigation, his litigation experience includes financial services, labor and employment (employer-based), medical device, regulatory, health law and medical practice. Mr. Monte has served as lead counsel in the case of Clay v. Mr. Monte's litigation experience is augmented by his far-reaching involvement in business and transactional matters. He has served as lead counsel relating to acquisition and sale in the oil, medical device, and heavy equipment industries. Mr. Monte has a strong background in federal regulatory matters related to the medical and medical device industry. As such, he has developed a cost-effective and on-budget approach to litigation and commercial matters. In addition, Mr. Monte has extensive experience in mediation, arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. Monte serves on the boards of directors of several multinational corporations in the medical device industry and as general counsel for clients in many diverse commercial areas. A 1982 graduate of DeSales University and a 1986 graduate of Villanova University School of Law, he obtained his fellowship in advanced trial advocacy from Temple University's Academy of Advocacy.
Mr. Monte has been retained nationwide to represent physicians, medical device companies, and manufacturers of products in areas as diverse as product liability defense, medical practice dissolution, trademark and unfair competition litigation and the defense of self-insured/excess liability claims against physicians for professional negligence. Mr. Monte serves as the President of Life Sciences Insurance Company, a products-completed insurer of the medical device and clinical trial industry.
